Non-profit work has always been of interest to me. Here are some projects I have been involved with over the years.

Strachan Family Foundation, San Jose Costa Rica
Board member and Technology Director 1995-Present

Active board member who helps build and maintain the web site for the Strachan Family Foundation, a foundation dedicated to providing grants to social entrepreneurs doing innovative work in the areas of Education and the Environment in Central America.

Grant with the Asociacion Robleato, San Jose, Costa Rica, 1993-1994
I worked in Costa Rica teaching kids art and organizing mural projects as part of an H.B. Fuller Foundation grant.See photos of the project and murals. The Asociacion Roblealto serves low income families with daycare centers in the inner city in San Jose. http://www.roblealto.org/

Nicaraguan Teaching and Mural Projects, Managua, Nicaragua, 1992.
In the spring of 1992 I went to Nicaragua to teach art and organize community mural projects.

Marina Middle School Web Classes, San Francisco, CA, 1996.
In 1996 I volunteered to teach a class of Marina Middle School 7th graders how to make a website as part of a larger class project on their community. The Center for Electronic Art volunteered their classrooms and we produced a website about their community.

Teaching with SAIIC, Oakland, CA, Spring 1998
Taught pro-bono basic web production workshops to an alliance of organizations who work with indigenous rights issues in South, Central and North America.
