From September 1993 through September 1994 I worked with the Associacion Roblealto organizing an art program for 105 of their elementary school students. The grant that I envisioned and the one that I completed consisted of teaching art to the students, training the teachers to continue the art classes after I had left, and organizing and creating community mural projects. The Associacion Roblealto is a Christian organization that has three day care centers in San Jose inner city areas. They provide education, health services, mental health services and food to the low income children that they sponsor. I worked in all three centers teaching seven classes to the eight through twelve year old children. I also organized each center to complete one or more large outdoor murals.
